If you are anything like me, nothing gets you aroused quite like….cooking with seasonal produce! In August, we are blessed with so much bounty in our home gardens, at the farmer’s market, and at farm stands on the side of the road! (Also, at the super market!). There’s one vegetable in particular that really gets me going, and that’s sweet, sweet summer corn. I don’t know why it does what it does to me… maybe it’s the smell? maybe it’s the shape? Maybe it’s the way it bursts its juices into my mouth? Aw shucks, now I am blushing!!! This menu is a celebration of all things corn with my brand new Sweet Corn Risotto with Basil Oil, which is perfection on its own, but when served alongside a simple Mixed Lettuce and Herb Salad with Honey Mustard Vinaigrette and some Grilled Kielbasa and Zucchini makes a whole ass meal. To finish off this tryst, we are making Strawberry Cornbread Shortcake.
