Welcome to Our Community

Welcome to our safe and inspiring space for creative, food-loving individuals. Our community is designed to foster positive discussions around food, body acceptance, travel, culture, family, home, and design. We value creativity, encouragement, sharing, and collaboration.

Expected Behavior

  1. Be Respectful and Kind: Treat all members with respect and kindness. Encourage and support each other, especially when providing feedback or sharing new ideas.
  2. Stay On Topic: Focus on the topics of recipes, food, body acceptance, books, travel, and home. Avoid food shaming or diet talk.
  3. Don't Yuck Someone's Yum! Don't diminish joy. Allow others to express their excitement about a recipe, ingredient or topic that excites them without sharing your distaste for that same thing. Engage in conversations constructively. Offer insights and suggestions in a positive manner. Aim to speak from your own experience rather than assuming something about someone else's experience. For example, instead of criticizing a recipe, share your experience on how you've enhanced it for your own tastes.
  4. Collaborative Spirit: Foster a spirit of collaboration and advocacy. Participate in discussions, live chats, and collaborative projects with an open and supportive mindset. We want people to feel safe and free to share. This carries its own vulnerability therefore, it is important to us to foster this as a safe, positive space. Of course you can disagree or not like something, but offer positive suggestions to help rather than tearing someone or something down.
  5. Grossy World is a private community space so please keep the content here, where it lives solely for you guys. If you want to share a post, that's awesome! But the best way to do that is to invite your friends or family to join Grossy World to take part of what we are building here together.

Unacceptable Behavior

  1. No Hate Speech or Antagonism: We have a zero tolerance policy on any form of hate speech, harassment, violent, or antagonizing behavior.
  2. Negativity and Discouragement: Avoid negative, rude, snarky, belittling or discouraging comments. Constructive feedback is welcome, but it should always be delivered in a supportive and respectful manner.
  3. Do not ask the host or any community members to engage or comment in political, religious, racial or news-related conversations. Instead, if you feel inclined to share about current events, we encourage you to share from your own experience, rather than commenting on other's views or messages.  GrossyWorld is a safe space for anyone to participate regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, current events or political views.

Enforcement

Consequences: Members who violate the code of conduct may receive a private warning to check your tone or attitude if the host finds comments to be rude or off-putting.  Depending on the severity of the infraction, you may be immediately removed from  Grossy World for breaking a zero tolerance rule. We must first and foremost serve the safety of all in the community space.

If necessary, report poor behavior to community moderators for review.

Welcome to Our Vibrant and Creative Community on Discord!

We're here to celebrate food, kitchen tools, home design, travel, culture, and more. Here's how we can keep this space fun, supportive, and inspiring for everyone:

  1. Express Yourself: Feel free to be yourself! Share your personality, your thoughts, use fun gifs, share relevant links, light profanity is fine!  However, always be respectful and kind. Avoid attacks, rudeness, or condescension.
  2. Stay Positive: We encourage a positive atmosphere.We kindly ask for you to check yourself at the door if you're having a bad day or in a bad mood before you light up the chat rooms. Come into the space to make your day better, and to brighten your mood, to have fun, not wreck it for everybody else.
  3. Zero Tolerance for Hate: Any form of hate speech or antagonistic behavior will lead to immediate removal from the community.
  4. Stay on Topic: Keep discussions relevant to the channel topics. If a conversation starts to drift off-topic, please move it to a private chat.
  5. If you'd like to suggest a new topic for a channel of discussion, please drop us a note in the suggestion box!
  6. No soliciting for any personal or business matters in the chat rooms or in the classifieds. Any messaging that disrupts this policy will be flagged and deleted and a gentle warning will be issued.

Remember, our community thrives on positivity, creativity, and mutual support. Let's keep it fun and encouraging for everyone!
