In early January, my friend Helen texted me saying “You were in my dream! You were prepping a Valentine’s Day soup recipe for GMA called ‘We Love EaChowder’”. I am not sure I have ever received a more delightful text! I promised Helen I would literally make her dream come true, and I think now, more than ever, we could stand to love each other as much as possible. I can’t say it enough, but food is my favorite way to show love. This Old Bay Seafood Chowder is filled with chunks of tender scallops, shrimp, fish and clams that are all wrapped in the warmest hug of an Old Bay-seasoned creamy broth. I am a firm believer that any soup or chowder cannot be served without bread for dipping (or grilled cheese-making) and my Mom’s Italian Bread fits the bill perfectly here. Chocolate Covered Strawberries are maybe a little cliché but hey, if the shoe fits! They’re fun to make for your partner for date night, with the kids, or by your own damn self and eaten in a soaking tub while listening to your favorite podcast or in complete silence if that’s what you need.
